Technologies for cells in suspension

Isolation of rare events

 Our Expertise

Excilone has developped an unique know-how in microgenomics and nanogenomics, or in other words in the analysis of microquantities of RNA or DNA (quantitative and qualitative analysis) from single cells or from small quantities of cells. Samples are obtained from laser capture microdissection, from microbiopsies or from isolated cells (DEP Array®). A team of specialized scientists remain at your disposal to carry out your cell-sorting projects at the single cell scale both for the development of the enrichment of the samples and for the nanogenomic analysis of the molecular content of each isolated cell.

Isolation of single cells by DEPArray®

The DEPArray® technology allows to automate the recovery of rare cells from every kind of cell suspension. After fluorescence labeling and from morphological criteria it is possible to select the cells of interest, to isolate them and to collect them one by one in tubes or other supports, including unique cells. The cells can be collected individually or in a pool from an pre-enriched sample. This technology also allows to isolate after labeling of cells of interest coming from a fixed and wax-embedded sampled (FFPE).

  Technical interests

  • It allows to associate an image with each collected cell
  • It allows a precision of the order of the single cell (100% of cells of interest)
  • It allows to put the cells back to culture (non-stressing conditions for cells)
  • It allows to obtain molecular data at the cell scale
  • It allows to study cell-cell interactions

Nanogenomics on single cells

 General considerations

Thanks to our expertise in Microgenomics and Nanogenomics and the use of a patented technology, we propose to extract DNA and/or RNA from a sample as small as a single cell isolated by DEPArray® technology, by Laser capture microdissection or other technics of your choice. The use of the scrupulously selected WGA kit allows the mastered amplification of the two alleles of each single cell without any bias.

 Field studies

  • Genetic analysis on variants (SNP on more than 100 cells or analysis of the variation of the number of copies on more than 10 cells)
  • Micro-satellites
  • Single cell PCR
  • Experimentation on living or fixed cell

CTC, Exosome and cfDNA isolation from blood

 ScreenCell® Technology

ScreenCell® was set-up with the belief that just enumerating Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) without easily characterizing them was not enough to allow the early detection of a disease and to potentially follow-up the cancer progression. ScreenCell® has designed and produced a simple but revolutionary technology allowing the fast and effective isolation of CTCs for a better cellular and molecular characterization. Furthermore, extracellular vesicles/exosomes and cfDNA can be collected in parallel to CTC isolation for further purification and analysis of DNA, RNA and proteins.

 DEPArray® single cell isolation

DEPArray® technology allows for the automatic recovery of rare cells from all types of cellular suspensions. Thanks to cell specific fluorescence labeling and morphological criteria, it is possible to select relevant cells including single cells, and to isolate and collect them individually into various supports. The cells may be collected individually or in "pool" from the pre-enriched sample.
